About John
My Story
I have a simple story. I am a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. I’ve spent most of my life in Michigan except when I was younger. My mother was from San Antonio Texas and we lived there for about 4 years before we came back to Michigan. My father attended high school but my mother only finished grammar school. Despite their limited exposure to education, my brother, sister and I all attended college and we all have master’s degrees. Don’t know how that happened but all of us felt the calling to teach.

Personal Life
I graduated from Central Michigan University with a teaching certificate in secondary education. I majored in Speech with a minor in Journalism. I always wanted to work in radio, so I spent some time working as a morning reporter for a station in Northern Michigan. I didn’t like the hours or the pay, so I went back to education. Next, after teaching high school for a few years, I started working as Media Director for a Regional Center and that’s where I spent most of my career. Writing was always part of my life. Journaling, poetry, short stories, stage plays were always picking at me. Storytelling is part of my bones. That’s one reason I love acting in plays so much. My first play after high school was “The Impossible Years.” I had one line I remember to this day. “This is a great party, Dr. Kingsly.” That was the beginning of a long-acting career in community theater. I love it. Still do. But as I got older, I needed to find a different way to express my storytelling ability, so I became an audiobook narrator. I love doing audio narration and you can find my books on my – Audiobook Narrator website.
Fault Line Terror

Debut Novel
“A gripping thriller that keeps readers on the edge of their seats until the very last page.”
“The red house at the end of the road.” “Are you sure that’s what he said? Asked Laureen “Yes,” Maggie sipped her green tea as the sisters sat at the same kitchen table their mother served up family meals for 60 years. It was a safe space for the girls growing up sharing their successes and non-successes. Boyfriend trouble and spiteful girlfriends, teacher crushes, angry tempers, and tears. Oh yes, many tears. Today the tears were about loss. Fredrick Robeson age 82 died suddenly from a heart attack in this very same kitchen one week ago. They were celebrating Maggie’s daughter's graduation from West Emporia College. He died in Maggie's arms but not before he gasped out the words, “The red house at the end of the road.”
from my short story, "The Red House at the End of the Road."
